A Fine Rare Giant French Striking/Repeating Carriage Clock by Joseph Soldano c1880.
This is a rare opportunity to aquire an original top quality Giant carriage clock complete with its original numbered case and giant numbered winding key. As recorded on page 185 of the renowned Charles Allix, Peter Bonnert Carriage Clock reference book 'very few of these large carriage clocks were ever made'. A superb white enamel dial with Roman numerals and original spade hands contained within a gilt engine turned dial mask with a gilt bezel surround.
A superb Gorge case with a reeded handle, all glass panels are free of chips or cracks.
This rare clock stands 23cm over the raised handle, 12.5cm wide and 10.5cm deep.
